Dick LutzDick Lutz is a lifelong journalist who admits to a mere 64 years driving a typewriter or word processor in one capacity or another, starting in grade school.  He is the author of Jadwiga's Crossing, an immigration novel, and is working on Jadwiga's America, the sequel.  He holds BA and MA degrees from The University of Michigan, where he was also a journalist-in-residence in 1978-79.  He came to New York and Roosevelt Island in 1981 on a two-year consultancy with the BBC and British Telecom -- then stayed, consulting at the meeting points of digital/information technolgoies and mass media.  Retired since the mid-'90s, he has been editor and/or publisher of The Main Street WIRE since 1996, when he founded Website NYC10044 (now MainStreetWIRE.com) and offered to do "one issue" of The WIRE to publicize the new website.  About 400 issues later, he's slowing down, but The WIRE keeps him around as a kind of mascot.
